| About
us . . .
as common sense and plain dealing." Ralph
Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
Bob Fullerton, our founder, laid down the basic principles which govern the firm. "Know the law and the facts," he said. "If you take a case, do what it needs." "Net profit is more important than gross revenue." "Just take care of the clients you have. They will refer the new clients." "Associate with quality people and build lasting relationships." Our goal is simple. We meet our clients' needs better than any other lawyers. We know them, we know their businesses, and we do what it takes to resolve their legal problems. We have concentrated on a business practice in San Bernardino and Riverside counties for may years. We know the judges, the government officials, and the business leaders. We are able to get things done for our clients. When our clients' business takes them outside San Bernardino and Riverside they take us with them. Our professional standards are equal to any firm in the coastal or metropolitan areas. Our lawyers have chosen to live here for a variety of personal reasons, including family, rugged natural beauty in the desert and mountain regions, and reduced urban congestion. We do not feel the location of our offices is an excuse for relaxed intellect or work ethic. We have earned a reputation for integrity, hard work, and results. We have built our firm client by client. There is simply no one better at what we do. |

History . . .
Robert Fullerton came to San Bernardino as an FBI agent during World War II. In those days San Bernardino and Riverside Counties were rural counties best known for their orange groves. The war brought the beginnings of what we now call development in the form of military bases and the Kaiser steel mill. After the war was over, Bob stayed as an attorney, rising to the position of Assistant District Attorney before leaving public service to start his own private practice. During the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s Bob was a well respected leader in the small but growing San Bernardino community. He had a business practice. He built his own office building across the street from the courthouse. His wife Frances was the office librarian. In 1978, Wilfrid Lemann passed the bar. Nephew of a San Bernardino Superior Court judge, he had lived in town all of his life until leaving for college and law school. Bob didn't just offer Bill a job -- he made him a full partner in the firm. It was an unconventional decision that Bob has never regretted. By this time the region was changing. The steel mill closed. The groves turned into huge housing tracts as thousands of people moved into the area. San Bernardino and Riverside counties, once rural, became urban. A law practice that once took care of small merchants expanded to handle real estate, non-profit corporations, employment, and the multitude of other legal issues brought by modern times. By the early 1980s the firm needed a top notch trial lawyer. Bob and Bill were keenly aware of the shortcomings of "litigators" who had little experience actually trying cases. So they went to the District Attorney's office and recruited Michael Schaefer, one of the best felony trial deputies. He came on board in 1982 and made partner in 1984. The firm has grown in a measured pace since then to keep pace with expanded demand for its services. Tom Dominick, son of a local foundry manager, was hired in 1985. He became a partner in 1989. Craig Wilson joined the firm in 1990. Our most recent associate, Epi Lopez, came in 1999.
